Thing 1

Habits? I guess not all habits are bad things. The tutorial,  7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners list 7 1/2 habits; the question is what habit comes easiest and which is hardest. I usually kept my goals on a mental list. I've never thought of writing my goals down and signing a contract with myself.  I think the only people that don't learn something new are deceased. In some way or form people learn something new every day.

The habits that come easiest to me is Habit 5, create your own learning toolbox. I'm a collector of things. I have been called "a pack rat." I love books; my favorites are cookbooks, how to, and children's books. I have a craft/art closet full of various items; one never knows when pipe-cleaners or felt might come in handy. My computer's desktop and bookmarks tab are full of saved websites and information I find interesting. I have taken art classes in the past and would love to add more art and self improvement classes to my toolbox.

I like Habit 7 1/2 as well and I contribute this habit to being a parent. The tutorial mentioned that children learn as they play and I find this to be very truthful. It is amazing to watch a child grow and learn by playing.

The habit I find to be the hardest is, Habit 4, have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner. Habit 4 is my bad habit. I second guess myself and my abilities, when I know I can do whatever I set in mind to do. I just recently installed a ceiling fan, thanks to real tools form my husband's toolbox.
